About our Puppies

Our puppies come from health-tested parents, ensuring they will not be affected by common Labrador diseases. Our breeding dogs undergo genetic testing and receive OFA certifications for hips, elbows, and eyes. We test for Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CN), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Copper Toxicosis (CT), Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (Labrador Retriever Type) (CMS), Macular Corneal Dystrophy (Labrador Retriever Type) (MCD), and Stargardt Disease (STGD). We continuously incorporate new tests as they become available.

Our puppies have their dew claws removed and receive a wellness check from Dr. Chris Gilbert of Darke County Veterinary Service at seven weeks, along with their first round of vaccinations, deworming, and microchipping with AKC Reunite. Each puppy comes with a comprehensive Puppy Book containing copies of the parents’ health clearances, deworming schedule, vaccination record, photos of the parents, AKC registration papers, a puppy collar and leash, a blanket, and a Lamb Chop toy with the scent of their mother and siblings.

Puppies stay with us for eight weeks to adjust to life without their mother and learn from playing with their siblings and other adult dogs. We provide ample stimulation and learning opportunities during this crucial period. It is essential for puppies to go to their new homes at eight weeks to start bonding with their new families, continue potty training, and integrate into their new environment. All pickups are scheduled on the same day to ensure a smooth transition.

We initiate early potty training using a potty pan, which helps puppies learn to avoid soiling their sleeping and playing areas. This early start facilitates easier potty training once they are in their new homes.

Socialization is a priority, with extensive exposure to children, adult Labs, cats, and various toys and activities, including tunnels, slides, ball pits, musical instruments, and outdoor playtime. Constant background music and environmental stimulation contribute to their well-rounded development. Each puppy receives dedicated attention to ensure they have the best possible start in life, leading to a more trainable and well-adjusted dog.

All puppies are pre-registered with the AKC, carrying the  Creek prefix. We support AKC through registration. Provide your chosen puppy name before pickup for registration completion.

Our puppies are sold on limited registration, allowing all AKC titles except conformation shows and breeding rights.

We recommend enrolling your puppy in beginner classes after 16 weeks and all vaccinations. Training benefits Labs by enhancing bonding, socializing, and behavior.

We breed Yellow, Black, and Chocolate Labs. Yellow Labs range from light to dark shades, with most of ours being medium yellow.

For chew toys, we recommend Nylabones, Benebones, West Paw Design, and Kong toys. Avoid rawhides and rope toys.

We are a hobby breeder and reserve the right to keep the first pick of any litter. Lisa Reier has final decision-making authority on puppy placements and may cancel sales with a refund at any time.

Please review our Puppy Contract, which is signed on pickup day and included in your Puppy Book.

If you are impatient for a puppy, we might not be the right breeder for you. Quality breeding requires time and planning. We respond to emails more quickly than phone calls or texts due to high call volumes.
